Description
Technical Parameters

The HFDB-200 combines a medium-frequency direct-current welding power supply with a vertical press structure. By changing the electrode and fixture, the machine can be configured for resistance spot welding or projection welding.

During welding, the upper electrode applies pressure to the joint while the controller supplies the programmed current. Electrical resistance at the contact area generates heat, and the applied force completes the joint.

The welding parameters are developed around the actual part. Material combination, thickness, coating, projection shape, electrode access and required joint strength must be considered together.

Core Selling Point

3 × 80 kVA Welding Power

The machine uses a three-transformer MFDC system with a rated capacity of 3 × 80 kVA. The maximum secondary short-circuit current is 58 kA.

Actual welding current is set according to the material, thickness, contact area and required joint performance.

Air-Hydraulic Pressure System

The air-hydraulic booster system provides higher electrode force than a standard pneumatic cylinder while retaining a relatively compact structure.

Depending on the selected cylinder, the maximum electrode force is 10 kN or 15 kN. The required configuration is confirmed from the workpiece and welding test.

Vertical Press Structure

The vertical welding head applies pressure through the upper and lower electrode assemblies. A throat depth of 425 mm provides working space for different fixtures and component shapes.

The maximum spacing between the copper platforms is 248 mm.

Workpiece-Specific Electrodes

Electrode material, contact shape and cooling design are selected according to the metal and joint structure.

Spot welding, projection welding, copper component welding and silver contact welding normally require different electrode designs.

Water-Cooled Welding Circuit

The transformer, conductive parts and electrodes use water cooling during operation. The specified cooling-water demand is 35 L/min.

Stable water flow and clean cooling circuits help control the temperature of the welding system during repeated production.

Touch-Screen Operation

The operator uses the control interface to set the welding sequence and process parameters. The available functions depend on the controller configuration confirmed in the technical agreement.

Typical Welding Applications

Electrical Contacts and Copper Components

The HFDB-200 can be configured for silver contacts, copper switch components, conductive terminals and selected copper assemblies used in low-voltage electrical equipment.

Copper conducts heat quickly, while silver contact assemblies may contain several metals and joint structures. Electrode design and welding parameters must therefore be confirmed through sample testing.

Nut and Fastener Projection Welding

Projection-welding tooling can be developed for nuts, bolts and formed projections on steel parts. The projection concentrates current and heat at the required position.

Fastener size, sheet thickness, coating, projection shape and required push-out or torque strength must be provided before tooling design.

Automotive Metal Parts

The MFDC power supply can be evaluated for high-strength steel, hot-formed steel, galvanized sheet and other automotive components that require controlled current and repeatable electrode force.

The final process depends on material grade, coating, number of weld points and part accessibility.

Custom Resistance Welding

For irregular components, special electrodes and positioning fixtures can be designed around the workpiece. The HFDB-200 may also be integrated with part detection, safety guarding or automated loading according to the production requirement.

Why Use an MFDC Press Spot Welding Machine?

An MFDC spot welder converts three-phase AC input into controlled medium-frequency direct current. Compared with a conventional single-phase AC welder, the DC output allows the welding current to be adjusted more closely to the workpiece and joint.

This is useful when the project involves coated steel, high-strength material, conductive metal parts or projection-welded fasteners. The actual result still depends on the electrode, pressure, welding time, cooling and part consistency.

FAQ

Q: What is an MFDC press spot welding machine?

A: An MFDC press spot welding machine uses medium-frequency direct current and a vertical pressure system to join metal parts through resistance heating. It can be configured for spot welding or projection welding.

Q: Can the HFDB-200 perform projection welding?

A: Yes. Projection welding can be carried out with the corresponding electrode and fixture. The projection shape, material thickness and required joint strength must be evaluated before tooling design.

Q: Can this machine weld copper components?

A: The HFDB-200 can be evaluated for selected copper terminals, conductive parts and electrical components. Copper has high electrical and thermal conductivity, so the part should be tested before the machine configuration is confirmed.

Q: Can it weld silver contacts?

A: The machine can be configured for selected silver contact assemblies. The silver contact size, base material, joint structure and acceptance requirement are needed for process testing.

Q: Can one electrode be used for different products?

A: Only when the products have similar dimensions, weld positions and contact surfaces. Parts with different shapes or welding requirements normally need corresponding electrodes or fixtures.

Q: How is the welding cycle time determined?

A: Cycle time depends on the material, thickness, number of welds, welding current, squeeze time, hold time and loading method. It should be confirmed through sample testing rather than using one fixed value.
