The main types of resistance welding machines include spot welding machines, seam welding machines, butt welding machines, and projection welding machines. Each type has its own unique application scenarios and technical characteristics.

‌Spot welding machine‌: The spot welding machine assembles the weldment into a lap joint, applies pressure and energizes through two columnar electrodes, so that a molten core and a plastic ring are formed at the weld, and finally a weld spot is formed. Spot welding is mainly used for thin plate welding and is suitable for welding parts such as automobile bodies.

‌Seam welding machine‌: The seam welding machine uses a rotating disc-shaped roller electrode instead of a columnar electrode to assemble the weldment into a lap or butt joint, pressurizes and rotates the roller, and continuously or intermittently supplies power to form a continuous weld. Seam welding is mainly used for welding structures with relatively regular welds and requiring sealing, such as oil tanks, water tanks, etc.

‌Butt welding machine‌: The butt welding machine welds the weldment along the entire contact surface, which is divided into resistance butt welding and flash butt welding. Resistance butt welding is suitable for weldments with simple cross-sections and diameters or side lengths less than 20 mm; flash butt welding is suitable for weldments with large cross-sections and high strength.

Projection welding machine: The principle of projection welding machine is basically the same as that of spot welding machine, and it is mainly used for welding workpieces with protrusions, such as bolts, rivets, etc.

These resistance welding machines are widely used in industrial production, especially in the fields of automobile manufacturing, aerospace, and home appliance production. Their high efficiency and precision make these devices have significant advantages in mass production.
